Being in a car accident is the last thing anyone wants - but when it does
happen, there are ways of making sure that the legal and insurance issues
are handled with as little stress as possible.
First of all - stay calm.
If someone is injured, be sure to call for medical
Make sure you call the police.
Don't publicly make any statements where you either
accuse the other person of causing the accident or take all the blame
yourself. It could open you up to legal problems.
Whatever you do, don't leave the scene until you've had
a chance to talk with the officer and you've gotten their name. It's
important to make sure that your side of the story goes on the record.
Afterward, it's a good idea to get a copy of the police report.
Make sure you have a pre-printed copy of your insurance
information in the glove compartment, along with a camera you can use to
provide pictures for the insurance company. A disposable camera with a
flash for nighttime or interior shooting is usually best for this.
In dealing with the other driver, make sure you get
their name, address, driver's license number and insurance information - and
that they get the same information from you.
Also, make sure to get information from any witnesses
Make sure you get pictures of any physical evidence of
what could have caused the accident.
Write down pertinent details such as where the accident
took place, what the weather was like, etc.
Once the information's exchanged, report the accident
to the insurance company immediately, even if it's not your
Make sure you understand how you're covered, and don't
be afraid to ask the insurance company to explain the conditions of your
coverage and payments.
Don't be afraid to seek legal advice - and don't sign
anything if you don't understand it.
When you're using a body shop to get repairs to your
vehicle, be aware that the insurance company can recommend a shop, but you
are under no legal obligation to use its services. You have the legal right
to choose the shop to do your repairs.
Also be aware that insurance companies sometimes try to
dictate what type of parts are used in a vehicle's repair. They might
insist that a shop not use Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts, as
they are more expensive.
You have a right to know what kind of parts are being used on your vehicle,
and to know if your insurance policy dictates what kind of parts can be used
in your car. If your policy lets you choose, you have the right to decide
An insurance company also has the right to inspect your
vehicle, but it is not required to do so. In addition, they cannot require
you to visit one of their own claim centers.
And finally: Make sure you learn from this accident,
but also let yourself move on from what happened. Everyone has an accident
once in a while - it's just something that happens.
They are very reasonable and work with you on pressing issues. They're reliable and knowledgeable with older vehicles. They don't gouge you with unnecessary services.

I came to the shop just 15 minutes before they were to close but they stayed open and did the work the next morning when they were closed! I had no idea what was wrong but they didn't rip me off with some fancy repairs. I paid $60 and haven't had any problems a year later.

He got me in right away to get my tire fixed. He checked all my tires and said the other 3 were good. He was very honest and good at his job.
I won't go any place else ever ! Dave is great and the prices are affordable.
Thanks Dave for the fast and great service. Always nice to know we have someone who cares for us and does his best for us every time we have an issue. Thanks again!
Thank you Dave for the amazing service! Trustworthy and fast service!!!
The definitive local mechanic, Victory Auto had fast service, fair pricing, and friendly staff. I'll admit, I knew the owner walking in, but I was still impressed with not only the speed at which they completed the repair, but also with how quickly they were able to get my car in. Don't be thrown off by appearances, the lot looks....rough, I know, but I couldn't be happier. I'll be back again!
I've had my car worked on several times here; my car isn't the worst thing in the world but has had it's fair share of problems. I've had my alternator replaced, had it towed here after it broke down because of a gas line problem, and minor other things. I've always been satisfied with what's been done, haven't had the problems come back or worsen since they've been fixed (solid repairs), and am overall happy with this place. Dave is a nice, down-to-earth guy who really knows his way around cars.
I happen to live near Victory Auto, so when I went in the first time to talk with Dave, I was very happy to find his passion and skill for car repair! I have been a loyal customer for the last 6 years, and owning a handful of cars keeps me going back frequently.
My most recent experience was I took my truck in to have some work done, well, some vandals decided they wanted the tires and rims. Dave called me first thing in the morning and apologized for not putting it in the garage at night, but it was full. I would never expect my vehicle to be garaged each night, he has many customers to make happy. He then told me that he had already filed a police report and notified his insurance company! WOW!
My Acura RSX had squeaky brakes and a tire with a slow leak. They resurfaced my two front rotors and fixed the tire for a great price. They also fixed a loose heat shield that was vibrating during acceleration.
I felt they were very honest and would never suggest un-necessary repairs, which makes me feel good about taking my car there. I will be back for all my car care needs from now on. Keep up the good work!

Awesome customer service, and a solid job on all the repairs I've needed over the years on my numerous cars. Have nothing to complain about, and consider this my default auto body repair shop because of the positive experiences I've had here.
Great service! The mechanic explained the problem in a way I understood, and didn't charge me to run the diagnostic test or clean the sensor that was causing problems. This was especially great since the dealership quoted me $150 just to run the diagnostic, and likely would have charged me for a new sensor instead of first cleaning the old one. Glad I found a place I can trust, and will definitely be returning!
Our family has 3 cars and I trust Dave with them all. Great service and honest.
The staff did an excellent job in a timely manner. He is a honest businessman.
The technician is honest and does good work. It was the best experience I've ever had. I appreciate the technician for being such an honest and informative person.
Thanks Dave for the fast and great service. Always nice to know we have someone who cares for us and does his best for us every time we have an issue. Thanks again.
I called this place today looking for an oil change and a fixed flat. I had no appointment. I called to see if they could get me in the same day and it was no problem. I talked to Dave and when he found out I was planning on waiting on the car, he offered me a ride home. I only live four blocks away (I didn't realize it until I got to the place because we just moved here) and walked home. My car was ready later in the day and it was $65 for the fixed flat and oil change. I was expecting it to to be more, so I was pleased.
Great interaction. Quick, easy, and affordable. They even dropped me off at my office when they were working on my car. Thanks Victory!
Great place! Affordable prices and very nice staff!! Fixed my car quickly and for a good price! Only bringing my car to victory auto for all my car repairs and oil changes!
